Barot Valley, Bir Billing

A huge variety of outdoor activities can be found in Barot, which is (1,830 m) only 12 kilometres away by haulage trolley and 40 kilometres away by road from Joginder Nagar. Here is where the reservoir for the Joginder Nagar Hydel Power Project is. It’s a great site for fishing because it’s a trout breeding facility. The Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary is located across the River Uhl and is the habitat of the ghoral, the Himalayan black bear, and several different pheasants. Barot and Kullu are connected by a hiking path through dense forests. The Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary has rest houses at Thaltukhod and Silbadhwani.

Many youth organisations, like Scouting, use camping as a crucial component to teach both self-reliance and teamwork.

One of the top fishing spots in India is Himachal Pradesh. The optimum months for trout fishing in the Uhl River in Barot are from April to October, and the best times for mahseer fishing in the Kangra Valley are from January to April and September to December at Sari Marog and Chamba Pattan. A small fee is levied, mostly to cover the cost of the equipment. The best times to go fishing are in the mornings and nights. Own a trout and have it cooked at a nearby grocery store. If neither your luck nor your talent favors you, the fisheries department also sells trout at a trout farm in Barot.

 

The Barot valley is located in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district. It is a beautiful location enveloped in a dense Deodar forest. It is a tiny hill station located 1700 metres above sea level. The valley offers a glimpse of the community’s cultural legacy, the way of life of the inhabitants, beautiful vistas of the snow-capped mountain range, and is particularly well-known for its trout fishing. The fishery department of Himachal Pradesh runs a trout breeding farm near Barot. The Uhl River enhances the beauty of the valley. It is the valley’s natural body of water, and it rises from the “Thamsar Glacier” in the Dhauladhar range. Hydroelectric projects use the River Uhl.

Paragliding Billing

Paragliding in Bir Billing is available along with other adventurous pursuits. Paragliding has a 15–20-minute flight time. The climate is chilly, with wintertime highs of 5 to 25 degrees Celsius and summertime highs of 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.

The most well-known location in Billing is the second-highest paragliding take-off point in the world, rising at 8,000 feet and providing expansive views of the valley below. The landing area is in Bir’s western Chowgan fields.

Itinerary

Day 1

Traveling 70 miles from Bir Billing, reach Barot.  Reach to campsite . We go fishing in the Uhl River after lunch. Roast fish over a stored-bone fire in the evening. A tent overnight stay.

Day 2

An early breakfast is served at the campsite. After breakfast, take in some local attractions like the Barot Valley and a magnificent waterfall.

After lunch, you can return home.
